Ho Chi Minh City (Han Nom, May 19, 1890 – Hanoi, September 2, 1969) was a revolutionary, Prime Minister (1946-1954) and President (1954-1969) Vietnamese. Founder in 1941 of the movement Viet Minh ("League for the Independence of Vietnam"), in 1945 ferried the country to independence being acclaimed president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
