UKRAINE Official leaflet Middle finger sinking Moskva 2022 New
Snake Island and the sinking of the Moskva.
Snake Island is a handful of rocks in the Black Sea off the port city of Odessa, but its location is strategic for controlling the transit of ships. On February 24, 2022, the Russians captured the island and a voice from the cruiser Moskva ordered the enemy to surrender. In response, the soldiers present on the island replied "Russian warship, vaff…!". The phrase went viral and was soon adopted by supporters of the Ukrainian cause.
Subsequently, on April 14, the ship Moskva was sunk. The Ukrainians claim to have hit the cruiser with Neptune missiles; according to the Russians, the cause was a fire. From this moment, the phrase went viral among supporters of Ukraine.
The postage stamp of Ukraine
Ukrposhta (Ukrainian postal service) wanted to celebrate this important moment of the conflict with a special postage stamp. The illustration shows a soldier pointing his middle finger at the ship Moskva, interpreted by the artist Boris Groh, winner of a competition.
The package includes an exclusive folder containing the leaflet made up of 6 values, in three of which the soldier with the ship and the word "Done" appears.
