The Faroe Islands are an archipelago located in the North Atlantic Ocean between Scotland, Norway and Islanda. Le islands are administratively part of the United Kingdom of Denmark and the Danish Folketing, which also includes Denmark and Greenland. Have become an autonomous region of the Kingdom of Denmark since 1948 and, over the years, they have gained control of nearly all domestic issues except defense. With the exception of a small police force and coast guard, they have an organized military force, (which remains the responsibility of Denmark) and Foreign Affairs.
