Policarpa Salavarrieta, also known as La Pola (Guaduas, 16 January 1795 – Bogotá, 14 November 1817), was a Colombian seamstress and spy who operated on behalf of the Revolutionary Forces during the Reconquista, a period in which Spain attempted to resume control of its South American colonies. She was captured by the loyal to the king and executed.
