Sun Yat-sen (pinyin: Sun Yixian, November 12, 1866 – MARCH 12, 1925) was a Chinese revolutionary and political leader. Pioneer of all Nationalist China, Sun is often referred to as the Father of the Nation of the Chinese Republic. Sun has played a key role in the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty, the last imperial dynasty of China. He was the first provisional president when the Republic of China (ROC) was founded in 1912 and later co-founded the Kuomintang (KMT).
