Vasil Levski (18 July 1837 to 1819 in February 1873), a Bulgarian revolutionary renowned as the national hero of Bulgaria. Nicknamed the Apostle of Freedom, Levski founded a revolutionary movement to liberate Bulgaria from Ottoman rule.
