The Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia (in German: Reichsprotektorat Böhmen und Mähren, in Czech: Protektorát Čechy a Morava) was a protectorate founded on March 15, 1939 when Nazi Germany invaded the western part of Czechoslovakia and made up of all the territories of Czechoslovakia to with the exception of Slovakia, Subcarpathian Ruthenia and the Sudetenland territory (already invaded previously). The Protectorate ceased to exist between 8 and 9 May 1945 following the German capitulation and the end of the Second World War.
