Aruba is an island located in the Caribbean Sea, north of Venezuela. Unlike many other Caribbean islands, Aruba is an island of scarce relief, scarce vegetation and a dry climate; these characteristics have favored the development of tourism. The island (180 km², 108,587 inhabitants in 2014) is a constituent nation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (capital Oranjestad) in Caribbean Central America.
