10 Yuan banknote from China Empire, year 1937, quality near Splednida, Bank of China, Sun Yat-Sen
He is considered the father of modern China and one of the most important Chinese revolutionaries, founder of the Kuomintang party, among the first to propose the overthrow of the Chinese Empire (at that time supported by the Qing dynasty) and to consider the problem of democracy.
Sun led the 1911 Xinhai revolution which deposed the Qing and established the new Republic of China, but his (provisional) presidency lasted only a little over two months, as power fell into the hands of the warlords of the Beiyang Army, who they kept China divided until the Northern Expedition (1926-1928), devised by Sun himself to reunify the country, but which he could never see because he died in 1925.
