Claude-Achille Debussy (Saint-Germain-en-Laye, 22 August 1862 – Paris, 25 March 1918) was a French pianist and composer. It is considered and celebrated at home and in the world as one of the most important French composers, as well as one of the greatest protagonists of musical symbolism. Debussy, as Mila confirms, is also identified in "musical impressionism", even if the composer himself denies its belonging despite the clear symbolist influences of Verlaine and Mallarmé.
