Plautus (Latin: Titus Maccius Plautus or Maccus Titus Plautus, Sarsina, between 255 and 250 BC – 184 BC) was a Roman playwright.
Plautus was one of the most prolific and important Latin authors of antiquity.
He was an exponent of the palliata theatrical genre, created innovator of Latin Livio Andronico literature. The term Plautus, which derives from Plautus, refers both to his works is similar to or influenced by the works of Plautus.
