1928 – Vittorio Emanuele III 20 LIRE HELMET VF+

Commemorative coin of the tenth anniversary of the victory of the Great War. Despite being an uncommon one, it is also highly sought after and there are numerous fakes.
Due to a minting defect, many original coins have the horizontal bar of the letter L of ROMAGNOLI and the horizontal section of the second T of MOTTI half in relief and half in incuse; this feature that many (but not all) fakes do not have. However, the minting defect does not occur in the first minted coins and the length of the incuse part can be different.
