Vittorio Emanuele III 5 Lire 1911 Fiftieth Anniversary Rome Extra Fine

This coin was minted to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy.

For the fiftieth anniversary series, the effigy of the King was minted facing towards the left and not towards the right as had always happened with silver coins.

This coin was minted with the "stiacciato" technique and therefore has extremely low reliefs. Consequently, it is quite usual for it to present lines and contact marks, even in the mint condition.
