Background:

This Art Nouveau coin presents the head of Minerva, on the obverse, depicted on the front with minimal relief. Facing heads, already uncommon on ancient coins, where there was no limit to the relief, were completely abandoned on modern ones, in which the relief must be minimal so as not to surpass that of the edge to allow the coins to be stacked. With this production, the Johnson factory proved to be up to the ancient monetary workshops.
The gold specimens were delivered to the High Personalities who attended the inauguration.
